District Manager - Region and Nation
Participant in Classs of 2012
Aguirre started with Sprint-Nextel in 1999 as a Customer Service Representative and was quickly
recruited by the Retail Channel because of her outstanding performance and leadership. Managing a
lower volume store has allowed her to be creative and aggressive where in a short period of 3 months
she was then promoted to a higher volume location, tripling the volume from previous location. 2
additional promotions took place for Aguirre as a Store Manager at higher volume locations. In 2007,
her continued success followed as she was promoted to District Manager. Her first year in position, she
took an underperforming District to the top of the ranks in both Region and Nation. No surprise she
was #1 in the Region last year.
Aguirre’s accomplished goals did not simply start with Sprint; in 1994 she joined the Army National
Guard as a Private followed by several promotions, ending her 6 year enlistment as a Specialist. Her
personality, style and demeanor have allowed many to gravitate towards her. Throughout her career,
she continues to seek opportunities to further advance her professional and personal development.
1. First, I would like to add that the entire curriculum path was outstanding! The focus on attempting
to identify yourself and most importantly how others will identify you have helped me in really
thinking through the qualities of my leadership style. The qualities I posses will allow me to build
my own personal Brand. In essence, I would like my brand to be authentic, being associated with
sincerity, honesty, and integrity. This program has allowed me to reflect on past and present
experiences, and focus on achieving my personal and career goals.
2. This program has helped immensely, especially around self-awareness. Gaining self-awareness
through feedback, other perspectives and having mentors will truly help in my own personal
development. Building a foundation through strong culture can help create successful teams.
Leveraging and mitigating are two key terms that I need to focus on in order to help me with
selfawareness, which will help me be more adaptable in my current and future business environment.
